The Arabella Collection

About the Artist

Malaysian born Anna is married to Robert and have two children and  four lovely grandchildren.  She started her career in Gloucester at the County Court in the late 60s and after doing a degree in IT worked as a programmer in the 80s before embarking in a teaching career.  Having  worked and lived all over the world with her husband has given her a lot of experience until they finally settled in Norfolk after her husband's retirement.

Now based in Norfolk, Anna Ovenden creates her own highly individual range of jewellery, “The Arabella Collection” at her own workshop. Anna’s addiction began in the late 90’s but it was not until she took early retirement from teaching in 2007, before she was able to set up her own studio to make glass beads full time. Her hobbies in crafts and design has helped with her inspiration to develop her own beads.  Each item of jewellery is handmade by Anna from carefully selected materials and because each bead is made individually, no two are exactly alike. One bead can take a minute or as long as an hour to make, hence every piece is a unique one off.  Anna mainly works with soft glass for her beads. Using a combination of Silver and Swarovski Crystals makes each piece of jewellery easy to wear and shows off the beauty of the beads. As well as her own creations there are also a small selection of Gemstones and Freshwater Pearls available. She is therefore able to offer customers a wide choice and variety to choose from.

A range of her creations can be found on display at one of Norfolk’s popular stately home Holkhom Hall.   Anna will be at Holkham Hall once a month demonstrating lampwork beads.  Check dates with Holkham hall on 01328 713118.

Her other hobbies are painting, golfing and learning to play bridge.  She works with watercolours, acrylics and oils and her creations are on display in her studio. Ther studio/workshop is open to visitors on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and at Weekends, to avoid disappointment a telephone call is advisable because on a nice day she may be on the golf course.  The studio is closed during January and February.

Anna also exhibits at Blickling Hall and Blakeney in North Norfolk at different times of the year.

" I hope you enjoy what you see and is a proud owner of one of my pieces of jewellery".

Thank you for your visit.
